Toughened glass can be a cost-effective way to enhance security. Laminated glass is even stronger, but is more expensive.

Qualities of the glass

Acoustic performance -
Acoustic glass utilises different glass thicknesses in the two panes, which greatly reduces exterior noise.

Self-cleaning -
Self-cleaning glass has a titanium dioxide coating which makes the glass very flat. This makes it harder for dirt to stick and causes water to sheet down and clean the window.

Clarity -
Traditional Pilkington K glass has a green sheen, creating a haze effect, particularly when the sun is low and viewed from an angle. Our glass is completely neutral and offers superior thermal performance; it also lets in more sunlight.

Safety -
Toughened glass is stronger and safer than normal glass. We fit toughened glass as standard on all doors and below 800mm from ground height.

Thermal Performance -
The performance of some modern glass is outstanding. We can offer you A rated windows, featuring the most technically superior
glass available today. Our windows are now C rated as standard at no extra cost to you.

Sun Reflection/ Heat Retention -
Various coatings can be added to the glass to reflect direct sunlight, reduce glare and retain valuable heat. This is very popular with conservatory roofs. There are numerous options depending on your budget.
